Since the West Virginia Republican Party is too afraid to have a US Senate candidate debate I decided to give you one myself. I looked up common questions being asked to candidates for the US Senate in other states. You deserve to know what your candidates believe and where they stand on important issues.
A brief introduction of yourself as a candidate please.
My name is Bryan McKinney. I have a husband and a father of 7 children ages 3-13. I work in the private sector in advanced robotics. I also paint athletic fields around the region. My company I work for sells the paint and equipment that is used by youth sports leagues, parks and recreation departments, and athletic departments at schools. I have been doing this for the last 10 years.
I don't see my campaign as some honor and privilege as many other candidates are claiming. I am running because the elected officials in Washington DC and Charleston have failed us and I am angry. If they were my employees I would have fired most of them or not hired them to begin with. I am running so that I can help put the people back in control of their government. I am running to stop and eliminate all federal taxation of the people. I am running so that my children have a future not as slaves of China or a giant out of control government. If elected I will only serve one term. I am running to take back all the freedoms our government has stolen from us and stop it from stealing our treasure through taxation.
What specific actions will you take to combat inflation and reduce the cost of living for middle-class families?
Let me be clear, government can't create wealth for the people, only for itself. Government can only be an obstacle to success. It can also create an unfair condition that hinders small business to compete with equal footing to large companies.
I would End the federal reserve and the IRS. The Fed is a private central banking institution that has handicapped our economy ever since it was created. I would eliminate all federal taxes that our citizens pay including the estate/death tax, income tax, and energy taxes we pay. Government has proved that it cannot be trusted with our money and by letting us keep what we earn, we can decide how best to use our own money. The US economy doesn't grow when government spends money, only when the people do on private purchases not paying taxes.
If we stop giving other countries money it will help reduce our need to steal from the people by taxation. Returning to the gold standard for our dollar will make our economy soar. We want our middle class families to become rich and our lower class families to start to become wealthy and be able to afford homes, cars, and even retirement. We also need to stop compound interest on all loans including for homes, business, and car purchases. If I purchase a home for 250k I should pay a 3% simple interest on the home not over $600k to pay off the house. We also need to ban property taxes. Seniors all over the country lose houses they paid for years ago because of out of control taxes at the state level that the federal government can help protect the citizens from.
The best way for a livable wage to be available to all Americans is stopping the taxation on businesses and income.
What is your stance on corporate PAC contributions and congressional earmarks?
PAC contributions need to be illegal. So should out of state donations for local and state elections. I don't believe candidates should be able to take loans out to run a campaign. We need spending limits on campaigns and remove the barriers such as the cost a candidate must pay to be on the ballot to run for office.
Congressional earmarks need to be banned.
What are my thoughts on nuclear energy vs newer "eco-friendly" options?
We need to start looking at nuclear energy to avoid continuing to damage our environment by using wind, solar, hydro electricity. There will always be an important need for combustible fuels that are always mislabeled as fossil fuels. Petroleum doesn't come from old dead things.
Do you support raising the federal minimum wage to a "livable wage" (e.g., $25/hr), or should it be adjusted for inflation incrementally? There is a great argument that removing the minimum wage will benefit workers across the board. Again if taxes doesn't remove 30-50% of our income the real take home pay for workers will be much higher and talks of minimum wages will be redundant.
How will you balance the need for energy independence with environmental protection, specifically regarding fracking regulations?
I think there is a serious need to balance energy extraction such as oil from fracking but also keeping our environment clean including the air and water. West Virginia has large areas of land where the water is undrinkable because of pollution from oil mining operations. It is expected to cost 200-300 million dollars to fix this issue.
What is your strategy to make your state competitive in the clean energy economy?
First we have to be honest that solar and wind energy are not clean sources of energy. Burning petroleum and coal will always get cleaner over time. Nuclear is the safest and cleanest option available today.
What are your specific, actionable plans to lower Medicare and healthcare costs?
Get government out health care. I do support the requirement that all doctors, hospitals, and medical facilities need to publicly advertise costs on their websites. As we work to remove all illegal immigrants out of our country we need creative ways to stop the financial losses from "Free" emergency care being provided for illegal aliens.
What is your position on federal protections for abortion access?
Show me where in the Constitution it says that innocent American children can be slaughtered against their will because of feelings or "rights." I am for a national right to life amendment to the constitution. I am also for legal punishments for abortion providers and for men who force women to have abortions.
How will you address national security threats from foreign adversaries, such as China, particularly regarding technology and intellectual property theft?
We need to stop having China as a favored trading partner. They are a communist country with little regard to human rights or intellectual property laws. We need to work closer with Russia, they are not our enemy.
How should the U.S. maintain its global standing and engagement in international treaties?
We need out of the United Nations, NATO, and other entangling international alliances that don't benefit the United States.
What is your position on legislation aimed at protecting voting rights, such as automatic voter registration or the Democracy Restoration Act?
We need to make sure no illegal immigrants are on the voter roles. We also need to get rid of all voting machines and go back to paper ballots with only in person voting. Deployed military should be the only group allowed alternative voting methods. Valid photo ID should be 100% required. I am against RealID and a national digital ID as well. State drives licenses should be enough.
How do you intend to restore public trust in government and address political polarization?
We the People can never trust our government, our police, or our military. I know by my study of human history that those institutions must always have serious accountability. The police need body cameras with audio recording. There also needs to be a complete across the board education to all law enforcement on civil rights of the people and respect for their rights. Tens of thousands of online videos now exist that show the worst of police conduct and treatment of people. I believe we need to change the supreme court decision that allows law enforcement to force citizens out of their vehicles during traffic stops. Officers need to be polite and direct at the beginning of a traffic stop of why the stop occurred. Officers need to be educated on the citizens right to record all law enforcement in public from a reasonable distance that ensures audio recording as well. Simply put, respecting the rights of the citizens and acting as servants of the people instead of punishers of crime needs to be the focus of law enforcement. No knock warrants must end. Officers should no longer be allowed to lie to citizens.
Regarding military accountability - I have not served in uniform which allows me to sit across from a 5 star general and tell him or her that we need to reduce our military spending by a whole lot. We don't need to spend over 1 trillion on war ever again in our country. If we arm our citizens then much of the purpose of police and military ends. The military has never passed a financial audit. That needs to change. If it can't prove that is uses money wisely it deserves none.
What actions will you take to manage border security and address the fentanyl crisis?
We have seen the success of ICE and I think we need the national guard to assist. We are on our way of getting every illegal alien out of the USA and we can't stop until that happens. By militarizing our border the passage of illegal narcotics will certainly reduce. It should be automatic death penalty to transport or cell fentanyl. Human and drug smugglers must become valid military targets near our national borders.
What are your thoughts on data centers?
I am 100% against data centers. They are not needed. Over 80% of West Virginians are against them. They pollute the land, air, and water. There are very few real jobs created. All of the costs are put on the people including the building costs, property taxes, water costs, and electricity costs. There are a so many people in West Virginia without drinkable water. We need to take care of the people before we destroy the state we live in.
What are my thoughts on ICE and the immigration enforcement being done by the current administration.
I am 100% in support of our ICE agents and border patrol agents. I don't believe there needs to be any reform in the way we are removing criminal illegal aliens from our country. I would continue on this successful path and get everyone out of the USA that does not belong.
What are my thoughts on my opponents?
Shelley Moore Capito is a career politician of 25 years. Even if we pretend she had a perfect voting record and was not corrupt at all, we need to limit all politicians to 1 term in office only. No exceptions.
Tom Willis supports data centers. As a current member of the military, it would be impossible for him to tell superior officers that there needs to be drastic cuts on military funding and 100% accountability. He has an oath to follow orders from the same people I as a US Senator can tell no all day long to big government spending and to force 100% accountability for every penny spent. I have great respect for everyone who serves but it is impossible for one to police and reform oneself. I will be a fair, independent, firm, and patriotic reformer of military and all government spending. I don't think Tom Willis can promise that in any way. I also came across a serious corruption story involving Willis and several other sitting officials with regard to an organization called Oil and Gas Workers Association out of Texas and their violent felon president Matt Coday. You should read the facts for yourself on my campaign website. I believe these serious concerns make Willis unacceptable for consideration for any elected office at this time. Also don't forget Willis was hired to complete a 4 year job as a state senator. He is actively betraying that promise to serve the citizens of his district in that office. Instead he decided to run for a state wide federal position and turn his back on what he was hired to do. Promises matter. Look at all the corrupt career politicians who have endorsed him via his campaign website. With horrible friends like he has, we don't want what is coming next to our freedoms, it won't be good.
I believe I am the best candidate for your freedom in this election and I promise to serve only one term if elected. If I felt there was a better candidate I would not be spending my time or energy fighting for our freedoms.
