Nick Shirley's recent exposure of corruption and theft of millions of dollars of tax payer dollars in Minnesota gives us hope that corruption can be fought anywhere and best when it is brought into the light. Ironically my investigation began just days before Mr. Shirley broke his story to the world.
Power and money lay at the heart of all of the corruption that runs across West Virginia. My investigation has led to a link between data centers, abuse of political office, potential IRS fraud, and much more. What you need to first know is that I hate bullies and corruption.
In December I started seeing the below advertisement on Facebook:
​I was curious so I Googled OGWA and what I have found since then is more than shocking, it reeks of corruption and possible criminal activities across several states. OGWA on the surface appears to be an energy focused not for profit. Their president, Matt Coday, states they represent over 46,000 members. Coday is a violent convicted felon who has a long criminal history across several counties in Texas. He is suspected of ongoing criminal activity including stalking of several men and women, verbal threats of violence, fraud, and defamation. In college Coday created a “White's” only student organization.
Matt Coday and OGWA have been involved with West Virginia politics for several years. OGWA (verified at https://www.ogwausa.com/endorsements) has endorsed several political candidates in WV since 2022. Endorsements aren't illegal and are quite common for popular and rich candidates. State Senator Chris Rose and State Senator Tom Willis both received an endorsement from OGWA during their campaigns.
Without question Matt Coday is a very troubled violent criminal who has no place in West Virginia politics. It took me about ten minutes to find all of the information that I've already shared. There is more information at the end of this page but I want get on with more of this story.
The following people are a few of the victims of Matt Coday over the past few years and continue to be. Mr. and Mrs. Beckmeyer out of Odessa, TX have accused him of stalking and defamation. Mr. Beckmeyer is a former Executive Director of the Republican Party of Texas. Mrs. Beckmeyer works with a family that owns a major oil company who financially supports President Trump. Matt Coday has created several demeaning and false Facebook and Twitter posts attacking the Beckmeyer's with false information. Local Odessa area police have confirmed to me of several reports of stalking and harassment by Matt Coday against at least 3 women and two men. Another victim of Coday is former councilwoman Denise Swanner, apparently she and her grandson are victims of intense stalking by Coday from what law enforcement sources shared with me. Tisha Crow is another name given by police of an individual Coday is suspected of ongoing stalking and harassment.
Matt Coday acting as the president of OGWA has influenced the outcome of many political campaigns across the country, not just West Virginia. On September 20, 2023 OGWA endorsed Donald Trump for reelection.
On the same day that presidential candidate Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida, released his energy policy, OGWA endorsed Donald Trump. This was a huge blow and possibly led to the downfall of the DeSantis campaign against Trump. Again an organization based upon a fictitious 46,000 plus membership influencing national politics.
I would expect any political candidate to at least look up an organization that endorses them. When that candidate becomes an elected official and co-hosts events with an organization I expect that even more. Senators Rose, Helton, and Willis used our hard earned money in their official office duties (as our employees) to host and promote at least one event with Matt Coday on December 5, 2025. Coday is a thug and I believe a serious violent threat to his ongoing victims. It is horrific to see three of our state senators supporting a vile person like Mr. Coday. Helton, Rose, and Willis had the duty to do at least a minimal background check into OGWA after their endorsements and for sure before they co-hosted the event on December 5th. I call on these three to immediately resign their office as they are a disgrace to the voters of our great state. Tom Willis should also immediately drop out of the republican primary for the US Senate. This is corruption of the highest order. I also call on all three of these senators to immediately release all of the emails and text messages between themselves and Matt Coday and information on any financial donations received as a result of their hosting the OGWA event. The women of West Virginia need to know if these 3 senators will put them at risk from stalking by Matt Coday here in our state like he has apparently done over and over in Texas and other places. The foolish politicians that work with Coday embolden his criminal behavior.
​It doesn't stop here. OGWA is heavily involved with another non-profit that is very active in West Virginia politics: American's for Prosperity. AFP is a massive non-profit that funnels “dark” unaccountable money into campaigns all across the country. AFP holds lavish expensive political events that Helton, Willis, and Rose have publicly attended. All three of them are very active with American's for Prosperity in their official role as state senators. AFP endorses and financially supports candidates in West Virginia to promote High Voltage power lines for data centers in Virginia and is pushing hard to promote Data Centers across West Virginia. These two projects will demand huge tax increases on us citizens in West Virginia by more than tens of millions if not hundreds of millions of dollars.
Data centers and high power transmission lines will seriously damage our environment, water supply, and greatly increase our taxes and electrical and water bills that are already out of control across the state. To put it simply, data centers and high power transmission lines will destroy our state and what is left of our economy and wealth of the working class who are forced to pay taxes in this state. I highly urge you to investigate if your local, state, or federal candidate is endorsed or supported by American's for Prosperity and Oil and Gas Worker's Association run by Matt Coday. Let your voice be heard by firing all political candidates involved with OGWA and AFP.
Neither of these candidates were expected to win. It appears their surprise victories were in large part because of OGWA's endorsement. Many voters looked at OGWA and believed the group really spoke for 46,000+ fellow Americans, it does not. The reality is that OGWA has few if any real members. Below are statements by Mr. Wallace Dunn on Facebook. Dunn is a former member of the Board of Directors of OGWA. I personally interviewed Dunn about being a victim of Matt Coday's stalking and false accusations. Mr. Dunn has already won one law suit against Matt Coday and has a second one ongoing.
